Northland’s
Aloha Cargo Transport division maintains a regular sailing schedule to and from Honolulu, departing from Seattle every third Friday. The neighboring islands of Kauai, Maui, Hawaii and Molokai are serviced via the connecting inter-island barge carrier schedule from the Honolulu hub.
This cost-effective, common carrier barge service moves a vast array of commodities to the islands, including heavy equipment and vehicles, construction materials, commercial and pleasure boats, personal vehicles, bulk liquid fertilizers and caustic soda, and a variety of goods in 20' and 40' shipping containers. From our terminal complex at Honolulu's Pier 1, we handle and distribute eastbound, as well as westbound cargo. Eastbound commodities are more commonly heavy equipment, household goods, vehicles, scrap and, rarely, contaminated wastes.
We are the preferred carrier for the Harvard-Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, which has moved most of its large radio telescope components for the sub-millimeter array on Mauna Kea (the Big Island of Hawaii) on our barges.
